About Us

A lot of people are tired in a way that does not show up on a resume. They are tired of applying into a void. Tired of smiling through a job they dread. Tired of being told to network when they have a child to pick up and a bus to catch.

Curastem exists because that tiredness is not a personality flaw. It is what happens when finding work is treated like a luxury hobby. We are a 501(c)(3) nonprofit. Our EIN is 39-2326761. We sit at 4958 Sereno Drive in Temple City, California. Paperwork matters. The reason we filed it matters more.

We believe everyone should be able to get and keep a job they love. Love here is not a branding word. It means work you can talk about without shrinking. Work that pays enough to eat. Work you can return to tomorrow without dreading the alarm.

The people we cannot stop thinking about

We think about the person who opens five tabs after a late shift and closes them because every form wants a story they do not have energy to write. We think about the person who is good at the job and bad at selling themselves. We think about the person whose last workplace made them feel small, so they delay applying even when they need the money.

We think about parents who need hours that match school. Students who need a first job that does not require a first job. People changing cities. People coming back after illness, caregiving, or a gap they are scared to explain.

If you have ever stared at a posting and felt both qualified and invisible, you are the person this organization was built around. Not a demographic slide. A human being who deserves a door that actually opens.

Why we built software instead of a waiting list

A kind counselor can change one afternoon. A waiting list cannot keep up with a country. We operate a website that helps Americans search and apply to over 4 million jobs because scale is how you honor people you will never meet.

Software is not colder than a conversation. Used right, it is how you show up at 1 a.m. when the only quiet in the house is after everyone else is asleep. You should not have to earn the right to look for work by sitting in an office during hours you already work.

We do not charge job seekers to search or to apply through that site. That is a moral choice dressed up as a product decision. If help only exists for people who can pay to be helped, it is not help. It is a club.

Mentorship is part of who we are

A listing is not the whole story of a working life. People need someone in their corner when the interview question lands wrong, when a manager is unfair, when they got the job and still feel like an impostor in the break room.

Mentorship at Curastem is practical. How to talk about a gap. How to ask for hours. How to decide whether a job is unsafe or merely hard. How to stay when staying is right, and how to leave when leaving is survival. Ongoing career support means we do not disappear the week after an offer letter.

Who we are on paper

Curastem is a U.S. public charity. Donations support the mission. They are not a subscription for a paid plan. If you give, we try to send a receipt you can keep. That is respect for your household budget, not a marketing trick.

What this looks like on a regular Tuesday

Someone searches after a closing shift. They find a role that matches the hours they can actually work. They apply without paying a toll for the privilege. Later they ask a mentor whether the job sounds like a trap. Months after they start, they come back because the new manager changed the schedule and they need language for a conversation that feels dangerous.

That is not a funnel. That is a relationship with work. Curastem is here for the whole arc, even when the arc is messy and unphotogenic.
